Here’s all the rank information you could ever need for DMZers. If you’ve returned to play after a hiatus, your rank information may be lost — reach out to a Staff member to get your rank back. You don’t have to start over! Similarly, if you’re coming in from MCNSA and don’t have your rank yet, let a Staff member know. For more information on plugin-specific perms, check our Plugin Command Reference page.
Ranks, Perms, and You
AboutThe time-out rank. This player done goofed and are probably in jail. This is a temporary rank, while Psi and Omega come to a resolution for the player. This rank is unchanged from previous DMZ ranks system.
Give me my rank back! You were probably set to this rank because something happened and we're trying to get to the bottom of it. We probably have questions, otherwise, you'd just be banned. Your best course of action is honesty and patience.
AboutGuest rank. This is a new rank for DMZ. This player is brand-new to the server, and only has very basic perms. They cannot leave spawn until they prove that they can understand basic English and agree to follow our rules. At that point, they are automatically ranked up to Mu (without Staff intervention needed) and allowed to explore the server.
Promotion guidelineWe just said this, but Nu is only acquired by agreeing to our rules in Spawn as a new player. Players will never be demoted to Nu. If a player was Upsilon'ed, and has to work their way back up, they'll start with Mu.
AboutNew player. This was previously DMZCraft’s Nu rank. This rank is virtually the same with some very minor differences. Whether they’re just stopping by to sniff around or just starting their career on DMZCraft, Mus are, you guessed it, the newest players on the block. It is the job of the higher ranks to make these guys feel as welcome as possible and promote a fun and safe environment for them to flourish into the potential Deltas they are. The only thing a Mu should be concerned with is surviving the first night and getting their hands on some tasty, tasty diamonds. Preferably not from someone elses chests, mind you.

Promotion guidelineHey man, all you need to do is agree to follow the rules. There's a button in spawn that will boop you right on up to Mu automagically.
AboutWas previously DMZCraft’s Epsilon rank. Kappas are the bright young upstarts of the server. They may not know their right from their left yet, but they’re ready and willing to make their mark in the world, and have a good time while doing it. The ideal Kappa volunteers for anything, be it helping out on a community build, starting a small town or even helping an Staff member test the effects of that weird yellow drink they claim to be a “new potion recipe they’re working on”. Kappa is the “fun stuff” rank! This rank gets lots of fun toys to play with.

Promotion guidelineSo you wanna be a Kappa? All you gotta do is stick around, play, build, and have fun. Oh, and have a good attitude! We expect you to have stuck around long enough to have built yourself a decent home base — maybe you even started a town or moved out of your 'starter' home into something more expansive.
AboutAdvanced level player. This is a merging of our previous Delta and Gamma ranks. Players who were previously Delta get a free promotion to Zeta. These guys have been around for a while. They can be easily identified by the wrinkles in their armpits and the thousand-yard stare — these guys have seen some shit, man. Zetas are the pillars of the community that everyone should aspire to be — they are warm and friendly, invite new players with open arms, help out with community events, and even come up with their own now and again!. You’ve just gotta ignore the faint smell of cabbage and wee.

Promotion guidelineApplicants should have spent a large portion of their time active on the server. They should be friendly in chat and participate openly in server events. Ideas for new events and games are a welcome discussion from applicants, and contributions to these even more so. Applicants are advised to have at least one substantial build on the server, be it a town, feature, grinder or other such community-centered builds.
AboutSenior level player. Was previously Zeta. Deltas are smart, yet humble. Passionate, yet calm and level-headed. Spontaneous, yet dependable. Crunchy, with a light, fluffy nougat center. They are a delight to be around, and they know the game of Minecraft and the ways of the server, inside and out. You don’t often see player ranks with privileges like these, because you don’t often see players like Deltas.

Promotion guidelineApplicants should be long-term players who have had a significant positive impact on the server and community. They have shown a willingness to pitch in and help Staff, taken a leadership role in big projects, and shown themselves to be exceptionally trustworthy.
AboutCreme de la creme. This is the highest possible player level — they are the super elite. They probably can answer many questions about the server because they live inside their computer-potato-minecraft-world. They have built towns, grinders, games, castles, ships. They know redstone better than the Omegas. They are the secret eyes and ears of the Staff. This rank isn't given out lightly!
Coming Soon!A complete list of Gamma commands will become available once we open up this rank to players.
Promotion guidelineThere are no Gammas in the world just yet. Why? Well, because it's a new rank for everyone! This should be an active player who has played for quite a while specifically on play.dmzcraft.com since 1.13. This is the type of player who has never had an 'incident', is respectful of every player and every Staff member. They should understand the ins and outs of our server, its history, and how we do things. This is a good rank for someone who is aiming to become a Staff member. It's also a good rank for someone who is just a very helpful player and likes to build outrageously cool things for the server to enjoy. So be patient, hang out, and play. Don't worry if you've been playing since before Minecraft even existed. After a time, we will open up this rank for players and we'll let you know when that happens!
AboutRetired Staff. Was previously DMZ’s Omega rank. This rank is for former mods who either retired or wandered off. Phi will still have many of the fun perks that they enjoyed before, without the responsibilities of a Staff member.

Promotion guidelineYou can't get promoted to this rank!
AboutThe Builder fork of our Staff. These folks are the most likely to send copious /tpa requests to the players to come check out their latest build or gadget. We love them so much, because they're the reason DMZ is more than just a place to go and mine. They create community resources, games, quests, and other gorgeous builds. If a Psi isn't on to help you with something, a friendly Chi can help you out in a pinch — if you can pull them away from their project!
PermsAll Staff perms are kept private.
Promotion guidelineOur lovely builders! An applicant for Chi should be a long-standing member of DMZ with some incredibly building techniques under their belt, whatever your style may be. Keep a portfolio of screenshots of the things you're proud of! Already having a grasp of command blocks is a bonus, but the Staff will train you if needed beacuse you will need to know how to use them. Although a Chi's first priority is building cool shit for the server, we expect these players to be just as friendly and welcoming as the Psis and show exemplary behavior on the server, as well as a proven record of working well with others.
AboutThe Player Moderator fork of our Staff. You can usually find them congregating around small ponds and sheep pens, and can be easily startled. So don’t make any sudden moves until they trust you, then they’re all yours to help out with any queries or concerns! These guys are your first option if you have any problems, need help with something, or just want to show them what you're working on. They'll approve your towns and builds to go in special server warp hubs, and quietly keep an eye on players to see if they deserve a promotion they were too shy to ask for. If you were griefed or bullied, talk to a Psi. Think of them like that cool camp counselor you had in 4th grade.
PermsAll Staff perms are kept private.
Promotion guidelineChi is not a requirement to become a Psi, as these ranks are equal but different. These players must be exceptionally ingrained within the community, warm, friendly and welcoming to newer players. We expect our Psis to be the pillar of kindness and understanding to even the most obnoxious of players. Applicants are advised to be reasonably well-versed in the various moderating commands before submitting, the other Staff members will train you up on the way we work. Applicants are advised to have either helped out with running, or organised a community event, as well as shown ability to deal with unruly behaviour and encourage a stimulating chat environment. Approval of this rank is decided upon by all the Staff members.
AboutThe Staff of Staff. Does that make grammatical sense? Omegas can usually be seen flying around "testing" all the toys they're making (a.k.a. playing with them.) They’re there to solve the problems the Staff can’t fix, and have the social inadequacies of an enderbro. These are the folks who maintain our plugins, website (hi!), server space, and address issues via console access. On DMZ, Omega previously had the rank DMZ (and was the same color as Alpha.) On MCNSA, these were your Templars. When it comes to server issues, permbans, and spawn — they have the final say. Omegas have a lot of respect for the Staff members and everything they’ve put into our little Minecraft home, and we hold all Omegas to an impeccable standard. They will not troll or abuse any player, or do anything out of spite or personal differences.
PermsAll Staff perms are kept private. Suffice it to say, Omegas just have all the things.
Promotion guidelineThis rank is decided on by all admins of both MCNSA and DMZ and is not something you can apply for. But don't be scared to share your aspirations with us if this is something you are aiming for one of these days.
